A look at what Southeast Psych clinicians are enjoying and looking forward to doing this week. Maybe you’ll find something you would enjoy as well.

OUR NEW VIDEO VENTURE: Watching our edited interviews from American Psychological Association conference.
‘LIFE IN A DAY’: Seeing “Life in a Day,” a documentary produced by Ridley Scott about a single day on earth. People from all over the world submitted videos of their day to You Tube to be part of this project. I know it’s out this week, but I don’t think it’s playing anywhere in Charlotte. I might have to wait for it on Netflix.
WINGARDIUM LEVIOSA!: Watching “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” which airs Saturday night on ABC
TALL ORDER: Shopping at Paper Skyscraper for fun, Charlotte-specific gifts to welcome our new interns and postdoctoral fellows.

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?: Excited to go to the Carolina Panthers-New York Giants preseason game Saturday evening to kick off the 2011 NFL season. Who doesn’t like a good home-team rivalry — I’m from New York — and of course tailgating?
GROUP DYNAMIC: Teambuilding with the faculty at Trinity Prep School. I LOVE teambuilding activities as a way of building group cohesion, shared experience, and unity. Leading this kind of workshop does not feel like work to me; it’s FUN!
AN ‘A’ BOOK: Diving into the book “The A Circuit“, even though it’s written for young adults. The author, Georgina Bloomberg, is someone I knew from the horse show world when we were both Juniors. She writes about the inside world of the most elite horses and competitors. Can’t wait to share it with my teenage clients who are riders.

MOVIE CATCH-UP: I’m looking forward to marshaling up the time to see some summer movies. Will it happen? I don’t know, but I’ve been itching to see “Super 8,” “Cowboys & Aliens,” and “Captain America: The First Avenger,” not to mention “Winnie the Pooh” with my little one! There’s some good buzz around “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” so I’m stoked about that one, too.
INTERACTIVE CHAT: I’m looking forward to meeting with my colleague Josh Jensen so we can collaborate on our tech presentation to be delivered to parents and then students of Trinity Prep. I’ve been thinking of using a more interactive talk for the kids.
SHOWTIME: On a similar note, I’m hoping to continue collaborating with Josh and Jonathan Feather to make our Aspie social skills video. We have a few ideas carved out. We just have to brainstorm a bit more and commit to writing.
Come back next week for more insight into what’s happening in pop culture and psychology.
